 DAY 1

Airport - Sigiriya
(170 km`s – 04 hours drive)

Overnight in Sigiriya


Welcome on arrival by your representative at Colombo Airport, and then start your journey driving you through beautiful landscapes of plantations and little villages to your hotel in Sigiriya, situated at the center of the cultural triangle.

On the way to Sigiriya, visit an Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala and Dambulla Rock Cave Temple (UNESCO world heritage site). Dambulla rock cave temple is a historically appreciated place (01st century BC) Sri Lanka has to offer and the opportunity to gain some insight into Sri Lankan culture.

Dambulla Rock Cave Temple – also known as Golden temple of Dambulla is a UNESCO world heritage site declared in 1991. Dambulla is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160m over surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Kings and 4 statues of Gods and Goddesses. The murals cover an area of 2,100 sq. m. (23,000 sq. ft.). Prehistoric Sri Lankans would have lived in these cave complexes before the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka as there are burial sites with human skeletons about 2700 years old in this area, at Ibbankatuwa near the Dambulla cave complexes.




Day 2

In Sigiriya -

Countryside village and Heritage sightseeing visits

After breakfast at hotel today you are experiencing a Countryside village life style tour followed by a Sri Lankan traditional home cooked lunch.


Then you will travel to Polonnaruwa, 02nd heritage city of old Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and visit the heritage sites - 11th century BC – UNESCO world heritage site.


By afternoon travel back to your hotel and relax.





 Day 3

Sigiriya - Kandy

After early breakfast around 07:00 am, proceed to visit the world famous Lion Rock Fortress of Sigiriya – UNESCO protected world heritage site.

On conclusion, travel to famous town of Kandy – the last kingdom of Sri Lanka, stopping at various places along the way for a chance to see some interesting places like a Spice garden at Matale.



Reach Kandy by early afternoon, settle in at your hotel and relax.



If you prefer to witness a Cultural dance performance, then you will finish the day with watching a Cultural performance featuring the traditional dance and drumming that Kandy is renowned for.



Kandy is an exciting place for shopping with souvenirs in wood, copper, silver, brass, Ebony and bronze. Ceramics, lacquer work, hand looms, batiks and world famous exceptional kinds of Gems and jewelry.





Sigiriya Rock is well-known as Lion’s Rock, which is a part of Sri Lanka’s ‘Cultural Triangle’ where you will have a chance to gaze over the stunning views of central Sri Lanka. Sigiriya is the ruins of an ancient palace in a 200 meter high rock fortress, overlooking the beautiful plains of north-central Sri Lanka. Built for an exiled Indian prince, the breathtaking ruins are one of Sri Lanka’s main tourist attractions and date back to AD 477. Despite its age, Sigiriya still retains much of its former beauty and features some of the finest examples of ancient art in the form of wall paintings, as well as a network of attractive gardens and reservoirs, and Sigiriya’s namesake, a gigantic pair of lion’s paws cut into the rock. With its fascinating history and unerring beauty, Sigiriya is often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world and the UNESCO-sponsored Central Cultural Fund has even restored Sigiriya’s 5th century water gardens, so that you can get a glimpse of what Sigiriya might have been like thousands of years ago.



 Day 4

In Kandy

Overnight Stay in Kandy



After breakfast at hotel proceed for sightseeing visits in City of Kandy, visit Royal botanical garden at Peradeniya and later explore the city of Kandy including tooth relic temple and adjoining ruins of royal palace (a UNESCO world heritage site).


Later return to your hotel and spend rest of the day at leisure.






 Day 5

Kandy - Nuwara eliya

Overnight Stay in Nuwara eliya



Today after breakfast at hotel, you will travel to scenic mountain region of Nuwara Eliya.


On the way visit a Tea Factory and a Tea plantations and a Waterfall Ramboda.


Visit to a Tea factory to observe the progress of making Tea, completes your visit to this Tea plantation region surrounded by the breathtaking and idyllic landscapes. You can view the vibrant green fields of tea which symbolize the image of Sri Lanka. You will also get a chance to taste and purchase some of the world’s finest tea.



By noon, you will arrive in Nuwara Eliya, an intriguing colonial-style town set in the heart of the tea-country, which still bears a distinctly British stamp. Well-kept lawns, hedges, an Anglican church, Georgian-style houses, and a well-celebrated golf course give this charming town an air of nostalgia.



Your trip to Nuwara Eliya will provide you with the perfect retreat after your visit to the historical sites, and because it is situated 1,890 meters above sea level, the air is cool and fresh, making Nuwara Eliya the perfect place to unwind.






 Day 6


Over Night Stay in Nuwara Eliya


Today, after early breakfast (or with take-away breakfast) you will set off on a trek to Horton plains rain forest (UNESCO world heritage site).

The drive is 01 hour 15 minutes from your hotel to the Horton plains rain forest entrance, and then you will enjoy the trekking for about 04 hours, in this highland. You will be able to visit the beautiful Bakers waterfall and the amazing world`s end as well.

Return to hotel by noon, and spend rest of the day at leisure.







 Day 7

Nuwara Eliya - Yala
(155 km`s – 4 hours drive)

Over Night Stay in Yala



Today you will be traveling to the south province of the Island, Yala.



After breakfast at hotel, you will be taken to Nanu-Oya railway station (around 08:30 am)
To board the local train (on availability) to travel up to Ella railway station. After descending from Train in Ella you will travel to Yala by land. Settle in at your hotel by late afternoon and relax.


At Ella, if time allows, enjoy a sightseeing visit, such as 9 arch Bridge, and then continue your journey to Yala.



Train ride:
Train journey in the hills is enjoyable and very picturesque. We recommend the normal compartments to travel, which will experience you better with local traveling system by train in this part of the Island. Normal compartment will also give you a better opportunity for a good scenic view and photography opportunities of mountain range.






 Day 8

Yala - Mirissa

Today, after early breakfast at hotel OR with take away breakfast pack`s you will travel to Yala National park by a 4 x 4 jeep to witness the wild life habitat. Yala national park is the most famous national park in the Island for many varieties of wild Animals.

Later by noon travel to Mirissa beach region for rest of your holiday.

Yala national park: It`s an experience of epic proportions that brings you up, close and personal with untamed world of wildlife. Whether you are an avid nature lover or visiting a wildlife park for the first time, if you come here with a mind that’s eager to explore and learn, you will go away with new-found meaning to life.

Yala combines a strict nature reserve with a national park. Divided into 5 blocks, the park has a protected area of nearly 130,000 hectares of land consisting of light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks and lagoons. Two blocks are currently opened to the public.

Situated in Sri Lanka’s south-east hugging the panoramic Indian Ocean, Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a national park in 1938. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted dear, peacocks, and crocodiles. The best time to visit Yala is between February and July when the water levels of the park are quite low, bringing animals into the open.

This is leopard country, and they are the lords of the jungle ! with a leopard density that`s higher than anywhere else on this planet, these menacing predators prowl majestically in Yala, while elephants roam in their numbers with cautious deer scampering by their side.





 Day 9 

In Mirissa

Today you will enjoy the deep Sea boat ride to witness the giants in the Sea, the Whale`s.

After early breakfast at hotel, proceed to Mirissa harbor and board your boat to witness the Whales and Dolphins at deep Sea. Experience the Giants life style at sea and return to shore by noon. Rest of the day at leisure at the beach.





Day 10

In Mirissa you will find Sea water activity centers for Diving, snorkeling, etc. where you will have the opportunity to enjoy your Sea water activities.

Day 12

Mirissa - Colombo - Airport

(170 km`s – 3 hours drive)




After breakfast at hotel morning at leisure, later around 12:00 noon check-out from hotel and travel to Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka, Reach Colombo by 15:00 hrs and enjoy the city tour. You may also need to do some shopping for last minute souvenir as to take home memory of Sri Lanka holiday.


Later you may proceed for Dinner in Colombo (your choice of Restaurant). On conclusion, depending on your return flight schedule your chauffeur will drive you to Colombo Airport for a safe return journey home.

Colombo like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its own phase. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the old world charm is retained. You can be highly entertained by the blend of unique bazaar style pedestrian stalls, barrow boys, branded outlets and a number of dramatic and awe-inspiring religious monuments. Other place of interest is the Pettah bazaar - where you can shop for bargain.
